This little prayer/reminder/poem has been on replay in my head since it first came to me several months ago after the writings and publishing of my “You Will” memoirs. I now do my best to recite these wordz (Hey now!) out loud regardless of what’s in front of me or how I feel. Somehow doing so always manages to bring me back to a good place. I think this happens partially because I know that I’ve been here before…we all have. And, not only have we been here before, we’re all still here (most likely doing pretty well for ourselves overall – be honest about it…you’re reading this) and have a choice to recognize that whatever we’re going through right now might be one big open invitation to the real party. The one where the REALLY good stuff happens. Here. Now.
And, in saying these truths out loud, I’m reminded that there’s probably more going on here. In accepting them and the very real weight they hold, I try to take a step back and look for the bigger picture. And when you find yourself in that place, you start to realize that this epic realization is only part of an even better story line that we can all co-star in. I call this brilliant little movie “Growth” (for me at least). Love and Hope are co-headlining as the super-stars, but you can call it whatever you want…
I’m convinced that it was yet another gentle and subtle nudge from the voice of life and that this voice would want for me to share it with any who will listen.
But mainly it brings me peace because I know that it’s the truth and the invitation to the party that we’re all being invited to sounds lovely…just lovely.
I already RSVP’d FYI…
